Use Lunagraph’s MCP to design on the canvas from the coding agent you already use in your terminal or editor.
The MCP server runs inside the Lunagraph desktop app. Keep the app open while your agent uses it.

Set up the MCP

In Lunagraph, click MCP in the top bar to open Connect MCP. The dialog shows your local server URL and whether the server is ready. You can copy the setup for your agent from there, or use the steps below.

Add Lunagraph MCP to Claude Code

Run this command in your terminal to register the Lunagraph MCP server:

Verify connection

Run this command and confirm Lunagraph appears as connected:

Point the agent at your selection

Tell your agent exactly which element you mean by giving it a link to your selection.

Open your agent in the terminal

Start Claude Code or another connected agent while Lunagraph is open.

Copy a link to your selection

Select an element on the canvas and press Shift + Cmd + L to copy a link to it.

Paste the link into your prompt

Paste the link into your message along with what you want to change. The agent uses the MCP to find that element on the canvas.
